Introduction
The Interactive Museum of the City of Huéscar is an experiential and interactive space, designed to show visitors the monumental heritage, the unique material and immaterial culture of Huesca, full of traditions, and the extraordinary natural environment.
All this without forgetting that it is located in a place steeped in history such as the old convent of San Francisco, where religious paintings from the 17th century are still preserved.

Context
The Interactive Museum of the City of Huéscar is located in the former convent of San Francisco, in the building that housed the main rooms, such as the friars' cells and the training rooms, where philosophy and grammar were taught.
After its restoration, many of the original elements such as the walls and the wooden structures of the roofs were maintained. In 2021, the restoration of the Philosophers' and Theologians' Hall, one of the main rooms of the former convent, was carried out.
The museological discourse is built around the cultural, ethnographic and natural heritage of Huéscar, through a route distributed over two floors.

2nd floor tour
The museum tour starts on the second floor with the history of Huéscar analysed from the main archaeological sites, with some replicas of the most important pieces, passing through an interactive table that allows visitors to learn about the defensive system of the region, ending with a video about the conquest of Huéscar.
Then you enter the recreation of a monk's cell, followed by the room of the philosophers and theologians, which contains paintings from the beginning of the 18th century carried out by the Franciscans of the convent themselves and restored in 2021.
In the next room, significant episodes of modern and contemporary times are narrated.

In the first room on the lower floor, an interactive table has been installed that allows visitors to take a journey through the ethnographic and gastronomic heritage, and a display case that shows the piece of the month.

Next, a room houses the recreation of a cave-house, typical accommodation that characterises our geographical area and, finally, there is a recreation of the cave paintings of the Piedra del Letrero, located in the area of Las Santas, which are between 5,000 and 6,500 years old.
